About Dr Yeshwant

Dr. Yeshwant completed his MBBS in India in 2002 and his MRCPsych in the UK in 2014. He earned the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Intellectual Disability Psychiatry from the General Medical Council, UK in 2018.

He is registered with the Medical Board of Australia and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry (FRANZCP). 

Dr. Yeshwant served as a medical member of the Queensland Mental Health Review Tribunal from August 2021 to August 2024.

 

​Autism and Intellectual Disability Psychiatrist

​Dr Yeshwant has worked in specialist intellectual disabilities and autism services for five years in the UK.

He is trained in administering specialist diagnostic tools for autism, such as Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R) and Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS).

​Forensic Psychiatrist and court reports

​

Dr Yeshwant has worked as a forensic psychiatrist in forensic mental health units for five years in the UK and two years in Australia and has written reports to courts both in the UK and Australia on matters of:

​- Diagnosis of a mental illness (including diagnosis of Autism and Intellectual Disability)

- Insanity / Unsound mind

- Intoxication and 

- Fitness to plead / Fit for trial
